震撼業界！Gemini 共同負責人 Noam Shazeer 加入 OpenAI

Google 工程副總裁暨 Gemini 共同負責人沙澤爾（Noam Shazeer）宣布，他將離開現職，轉往 OpenAI 任職。

「我將加入 OpenAI，期待與那裡的優秀團隊共事。」沙澤爾在一則 X 貼文宣布，他將離開 Google 加入 OpenAI，雖然貼文未提及他在 OpenAI 的新職務和工作內容為何，但在業界是一件大事，上一個引起業界關注的是不久前加入 Anthropic 的 OpenAI 共同創辦人卡帕斯（Andrej Karpathy）。

沙澤爾身為 Gemini 共同負責人，還是 Google 工程副總裁，他的 LinkedIn 檔案顯示，自 2024 年 8 月起便擔綱這些職務。擔任 Gemini 共同負責人之前，他在 2000 年至 2021 年間擔任 Google 的軟體工程師，並在 2021 年底至 2024 年間離開 Google 去創業，擔任 Character.AI 的執行長，之後又重返 Google，同時 Google 與 Character.AI 之間達成一項授權協議。

沙澤爾早期的重要成就之一，是改進 Google 搜尋引擎的拼寫校正功能。他在 2017 年與 Google 同事共同發表開創性論文《Attention Is All You Need》，奠定現今如 ChatGPT、Gemini 背後大型語言模型的技術基石。

沙澤爾選擇加入 OpenAI，對此 Google 告訴《路透社》「對於 Noam 多年來為 Google 所做出的重大貢獻深表感謝」。
