人型機器人搭機引爭議，西南航空隨即封殺同類登機

美國西南航空公司（Southwest Airlines）最近更新政策，禁止人型或動物外型機器人進入客艙，也不准當行李託運。事件起因於名為 Stewie 的人型機器人早前搭乘西南航空航班，引起大眾討論。Southwest Airlines 表示，新規範主要與鋰離子電池安全有關，目標是避免機器人電池在飛行期間引致火警風險。

美國機器人租賃公司 The Robot Studio 創辦人 Aaron Mehdizadeh 於今年 5 月 7 日為該公司研發研製的人型機器人「Stewie」購買西南航空機票，從拉斯維加斯飛往達拉斯。兩天後西南航空即發出安全通知，明確將人型及動物外型機器人列入禁運範圍，無論體積或用途如何一律不准帶上機或託運。

Aaron Mehdizadeh 對禁令表示不滿，認為 Stewie 使用電池並無超標，航空公司反應過度。Aaron Mehdizadeh 指當日飛行過程順利，乘客反應多數偏向好奇而非恐慌。
